Road safety in Western Australia is managed within a well-defined administrative framework.
  • The Road Safety Council (RSC) comprises members from key government agencies, as well as representatives from the Insurance Commission of Western Australia, Local Government and the Royal Automobile Club (RAC), representing road users.
  • The RSC is supported by the Office of Road Safety (ORS).
Together they provide strong leadership and coordination in the key areas of policy, research, program evaluation and community education.

Ministerial Council on Road Safety

Recognising that road safety rests with more than one Minister, the Ministerial Council on Road Safety was formed by Government to ensure important road safety initiatives are progressed at a Ministerial level in a coordinated and effective manner.  The Governance Charter outlines the purpose, membership and structure of the Council.
